Information we may collect
We may collect contact details, information you provide about your immigration circumstances, correspondence, identity and supporting documents, payment and engagement records if you become a client, and limited technical information generated when you use this website. Please do not send original documents or highly sensitive information in an initial enquiry.
Why we use personal information
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, assess whether we can assist, provide services under a client agreement, communicate with clients, keep required records, meet legal and regulatory duties, protect our systems and establish or defend legal claims. Depending on the circumstances, our lawful bases may include taking steps before a contract, performing a contract, complying with legal obligations, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting our practice, and consent where we specifically request it.
Sensitive information
Immigration matters may involve special category data or information about criminal allegations or convictions. We use such information only where it is necessary for the requested advice or service and where a valid legal condition applies.
Sharing information
Where necessary and appropriate, we may share information with the Home Office, courts or tribunals, the Immigration Advice Authority, professional advisers, interpreters, technology and hosting providers, payment providers, and other organisations authorised by you or required by law. Service providers must handle information only for permitted purposes and with appropriate safeguards.
International transfers
Some technology providers, including website and communications providers, may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where required, we use providers or arrangements designed to provide an appropriate level of protection under UK data protection law.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry information only for as long as reasonably necessary for follow-up, administration, security and legal purposes. If you become a client, the IAA Code of Standards requires client files and records to be kept for at least six years. Information may be kept longer where required by law or reasonably necessary for a legal claim. It is then securely deleted or destroyed.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your information; restrict or object to its use; receive certain information in a portable format; and withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. We use reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect personal information. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
